# Parking for a boat on its trailer

City bylaws, condo rules, an HOA or simply no room: lots of trailer boats need somewhere to live. Tell us the length on the trailer and where you launch, and we look for a lot near your home or the ramp.

## Options for a trailer boat

- Outdoor lot: Gravel or paved, fenced, with gated access. Priced monthly or by season, sometimes by length on the trailer.
- Covered parking: A roof without walls. Keeps snow and sun off at a lower price than a full building.
- Indoor unit or building: A drive-up storage unit or shared building. Measure height on the trailer first.
- Marina lot by the ramp: Leave the trailer (or boat and trailer) at the marina for the summer and launch on the spot.

## Why owners move the boat off the driveway

Many Canadian cities limit how long a boat or trailer can sit in a front yard or driveway, and many condos and townhouse corporations ban them outright. Rules differ by city and by season.

A lot near the launch also saves towing through the city every weekend.

## Trailer parking prices

- Boat and trailer parking: from $100/month
- Winter parking on your trailer: from $300 per winter

## Trailer parking questions

**Can I get my boat out whenever I want?**

Depends on the lot. Some have keypad gates open from early morning to late evening; others need an appointment. Ask about access hours before you sign.

**Do lots check the trailer?**

Many ask for plates and proof of ownership, and some require a hitch lock. Tires and bearings are your responsibility.

**Can I store a PWC on a trailer?**

Yes, and double PWC trailers usually count as one space. See [PWC storage](https://boatparking.ca/boats/pwc-storage/).
