What matters for a bigger boat
Lift capacity
Travel lifts are rated in tons. A 40 ft cruiser can weigh 10 to 15 tons. Not every marina can lift it.
Done-for-you package
Haul-out, pressure wash, block, winterize engines and genset, water and holding systems, wrap, then commission and launch in spring.
Heated building
For interior finishes, electronics and winter work. Space for large boats is limited, so book early.
Keelboats and masts
Mast unstepped and stored, or left up in yards that allow it. Cradles sized to the keel.

Yacht storage questions
Can a yacht stay in the water over winter?
On the BC coast, routinely. In Ontario and Quebec a few marinas offer in-water winter storage with bubblers or de-icers to keep ice off the hull; most boats come out.
